Great Truths to Ponder

Grace Family,

Well friends.  As I write this, it is the evening many call Maundy Thursday   The night where Jesus pulled an “all-nighter”, moving from the Passover Supper with His friends, to the garden, to being arrested and then moving from ruler to ruler in the various trials. A New Testament verse that came to my mind today is 1 Peter 3:18. It is a simple verse that says it all:

18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.

This verse gives the basics of what our Savior did for us: He physically died, despite being perfectly righteous. It also tells us why He died: it was for our sins and it was to bring us to God. One other little nugget in this verse is that after His death He was made alive! Raised from the grave by the power of the Holy Spirit to never die. After being raised He ascended on high to reign as Lord and King. Ponder these great truths as you worship the Savior this weekend!

Be blessed!
