Dear Grace Family,
I was reading through Psalm 121 and was encouraged by the opening verses: “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” (Ps. 121:1-4)
Our help comes from the Lord. He created all things, and yet he cares about us! The fact that he helps us, means not only that he is aware of what is going on in our lives – he also cares about what happens in our lives and has the power to help us!
And our God is so much better than anyone else – so often I find myself tempted to look for another person for help or guidance instead of God. And sure, other people can help us. But they are people just like us, with sins, weaknesses, and blind spots. We need more than just help from other people. We need a God who is able to watch over us 24/7; a God who never gets worn out and needs a nap. And that’s who we have in the Lord. He never sleeps, never needs a break. He is always there watching over us , always hears us when we call, and is always willing and able to help us!
May you be comforted to remember that whatever you are going through in life, your help comes from the Lord!
